ZuruNote

Terms of use

Updated

These terms cover the ZuruNote app and zurunote.com. Using the app means you accept them.

The service

ZuruNote lets you listen to a lecture on iPhone and make notes for that visit. Listening becomes text on the device. Audio is not kept.

A visit on the timetable becomes one shared note from the people who were there. A visit that is not on the timetable becomes a note for one student. An invite link lets someone else read that note. What the other person heard is not added.

Age

People under 16 cannot use the app. If you are 16 or 17, buying tane follows the App Store parental controls and these terms.

Account

Sign-in is Sign in with Apple and Google. Checking a university email is a separate step.

You delete the account inside the app. A finished note and the teacher's talk remain. Teacher ratings are removed with the account.

Listening and sending

Text, marks, board photos, and memos are sent only when you have permission to share and you agree to send them. Permission to share is your own statement that the teacher allowed it.

You can withdraw that agreement at any time. Text already sent follows the privacy policy.

Before text goes to an external model, the app shows who receives it, what is sent, and why. The model vendor is not chosen yet.

Notes and tane

Taking a note spends tane. At the moment listening starts, the note is taken and tane is spent. A wrong classroom is your responsibility. ZuruNote does not return tane for that reason.

Tane is an App Store in-app purchase. We do not sell it outside the app. Tane is not cash, and you cannot transfer it.

A new account currently receives tane for three notes (150,000) once. Attendance at a scheduled lecture can earn tane back. For a class a student created, that reward needs two or more people on the visit.

The price on the purchase screen is the App Store price.

Refunds

If a note cannot be made, or a sharing stop hides the lecture, tane for that visit is returned. A refund of money paid to Apple follows Apple's process.

Shared notes

A shared note is for students of the same university who have confirmed that affiliation. Student speech is shown as "questioner".

You can report sharing that was not allowed. A report from a teacher or a university, reports from separate confirmed students, or text that shows the listening was not allowed, can lead to a sharing stop.

Not allowed

Do not break the law, pretend to be someone else, disrupt a class, or sell the notes outside the app.

Rights

The lecture remains the speaker's. ZuruNote does not promise that a note is accurate. A note is not a substitute for attending.

Law

These terms follow Japanese law. If the terms change, we say so in the app or on this page.
